Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has introduced three new buckets for its wheeled loader range that have been designed to perform specialised tasks.
The Volvo Sand bucket, Volvo Rehandling Flat Floor bucket, and Volvo Rehandling bucket all fit the Volvo wheeled loaders from the entry-level L110 to the large L350 models and have been optimised for specific applications, Volvo CE said in a press announcement.
According to Volco CE, the new attachments have been designed with operational efficiency in mind, and enable operators to do more at a faster rate, while improving fuel efficiency by up to 20%. The company added that the buckets are shaped for easy filling, which is aided by their balanced floor back ratios and countersunk holes. Optimised spill guards deflect material for greater protection, while curved side plates provide better containment, securing the material for more efficient operation. To prevent different material grades from mixing, the buckets also feature minimised pockets.
The Rehandling bucket provides a productive and fuel-efficient re-handling operation with its easy-to-fill bucket, which cuts cycle times, the company said. The Rehandling Flat Floor bucket has been designed for handling, stockpiling and loading processed materials such as sand, gravel and aggregate. The bucket maximises traction and break-out force for applications on sand or other soft terrain.
The Sand bucket, on the other hand, has been designed for operations in soft ground conditions where tire traction is compromised. Designed for handling sand or aggregate in small fractions, its long bucket floor maximises penetration for improved traction, while its flat design helps to maintain a level work area, Volvo CE said. High tensile steel and wear-resistant parts are also positioned in critical areas of the buckets for longer life, it added.
