Terex has announced the appointment of Guntram Jakobs as its new customer support director, for Terex Cranes Mobile Cranes for the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR) region. The decision which came into effect from August 1, was made against the background of the company’s global ‘Execute-to-Win’ strategy, with which Terex Cranes aims to regain its global leadership position in the industry.
Terex Cranes has defined customer focus as an essential part of this strategic orientation: “Our goal is to become the industry benchmark in this area,” said Thomas Schramm, Terex Cranes’ VP for Sales & Service Mobile Cranes in the EMEAR region and responsible for the Demag brand worldwide, summing up his company’s mission.
Service is of central importance here and the company says that with the appointment of Guntram Jakobs, it has entrusted the leadership of customer support in the EMEAR region to an experienced and highly respected person in the industry.
As a long-standing Terex Cranes employee, Jakobs can draw on extensive industry experience. When he joined the company in 1991, he initially worked as a service engineer. In this role, he spent several years in various customer support positions in both Europe and the USA, including three years as head of service at the Charleston office. He most recently held a responsible position in global product marketing for crawler cranes.
“Guntram is a longstanding team member of Terex Cranes. He is committed to the company, knows the industry, and has technical expertise and experience in dealing with the industry and customers. He meets all the prerequisites to help expand our position in the EMEAR region,” said Schramm.
