Joseph Gallagher International has partnered with Mace for one of the largest trenchless projects in Abu Dhabi. Working with Mace, Joseph Gallagher has deployed its Iseki microtunneling machine for a 25km long pipeline for the Abu Dhabi Sewerage Services Company (ADSSC).
The new pipeline will serve residents in two different parts of the capital; Baniyas and Shahama, said a statement from Joseph Gallagher. The microtunnelling machine and support equipment will install pipes of different sizes (from 400DN to 2000DN), at depths from five to 30m from the surface, as part of a two-year contract.
“We at Joseph Gallagher are hugely excited about working with Mace, one of the leading contractors in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. The two-year project will use Iseki and Herrenknecht equipment from the Joseph Gallagher microtunnelling fleet,” a spokesperson for Joseph Gallagher said.
The ADSSC notes that it is committed to providing high quality, sustainable, safe and cost-effective wastewater services to its customers throughout Abu Dhabi, which includes the collection, treatment and disposal of end products.
The statement also said that Abu Dhabi has committed to recycling 100% of its municipal wastewater by 2019 for agricultural, forestry and golf course irrigation. The pipeline project is said to be part of the capital’s long-term plans to support population and infrastructure growth in the region.
