The managing director of Safelift, the Abu Dhabi-based regional rental heavyweight, has been named as the vice chairman of the International Powered Access Federation’s (IPAF) Middle East Regional Council (MERC)
Wayne Taylor, MD of Safelift, which is among the market leaders in the sales and rental of mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP) in the GCC, was recently elected to the VP position of the IPAF – MERC and will serve alongside newly-elected chairman, Peter Ellis of Power Towers.
Commenting on the role, Taylor (pictured on the right in the image above) said: “It is a great honour to be elected to the position of vice chairman and I look forward to working closely with the new chairman, Peter Ellis, who I have known for many years. IPAF is at the forefront of ensuring that the access industry is amongst the safest in the world and carrying on from the great work carried out by the outgoing chairman Cavaleri. We will continue to ensure the Middle East region is equally committed to the best safety practices at every level from government organisations to MEWP operators.”
Safelift celebrated a decade of operations earlier this year, moving into new premises in Abu Dhabi’s Mussafah Industrial Area’s M15 locality. The new facility covers 35,000 square feet and includes workshops, offices, a yard, parts warehouse and training facilities. The company’s fleet includes machines from small push-around access units of 5m working height to scissors and diesel booms of up to 43m.
