DEVELON, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, has successfully launched its highly anticipated ‘DX-7M’ series of tracked excavators, comprising 19 distinct models ranging from 2 to 53 tonnes.
These excavators are tailored to cater to Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets worldwide, offering enhanced performance and innovative features for a diverse range of industries, including construction, rental, recycling, waste processing, utilities, mining, and quarrying.
The ‘DX-7M’ lineup includes:
- DX27Z-7M and DX35Z-7M (2-3 t Mini-Excavators)
- DX200A-7M, DX210-7M, DX220LC-7M, and DX220AF-7M (20-22 t Crawler Excavators)
- DX225LC-7M and DX225LCA-7M (22 t Crawler Excavators)
- DX300LC-7M, DX300LCA-7M, DX360LC-7M, and DX360LCA-7M (31-37 t Crawler Excavators)
- DX400LC-7M, DX450LC-7M, and DX450LCA-7M (41-45 t Crawler Excavators)
- DX490LC-7M, DX490LCA-7M, DX530LC-7M, and DX530LCA-7M (49-53 t Crawler Excavators)
These new models represent a significant improvement over their predecessors, boasting enhanced performance capabilities attributed to more potent engines and advanced higher-flow hydraulic systems.
One standout feature among the offerings is the Virtual Bleed Off (VBO) System, integrated into the DX200A-7M and all larger excavators in the DX300LC(A)-7M range. The VBO system incorporates cutting-edge electronic pressure-controlled pump technology within a closed-center hydraulic system.
This translates to remarkable productivity increases of up to 17% and fuel efficiency improvements of up to 32%, varying by model and mode selection. The closed-centered main control valve minimises pressure loss, while the electronic pressure-controlled pump optimizes engine power management, resulting in smoother acceleration and deceleration of excavator workgroup functions, reducing operator fatigue.
Moreover, models from 20 tonnes and above feature the Smart Power Control (SPC) system, which automatically adjusts engine RPM based on workload and speed, ensuring optimal fuel efficiency.
The redesigned cabs on the DX-7M excavators prioritise operator comfort and control. These cabins offer various ventilation and air conditioning options, and they include safety features such as seat-belt warning alarms and the Around View Monitor (AVM) system, designed to eliminate blind spot-related accidents.
Additional comfort features include a modern dark grey interior, upgraded heating and ventilation functions, an 8-inch touchscreen monitor for intuitive operation, DAB audio with hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, a choice of fabric or leather seats with heating functions, multipurpose cup holders and storage options, ergonomic footrests to reduce ankle fatigue, LED cab lights, and rear sun visors.
For exceptional off-road performance, the DX200A-7M and DX220AF-7M models are reinforced to meet Develon’s global standards. These excavators feature strengthened hydraulic components, engine tanks, and robust frames and structures capable of withstanding tough workplace conditions, including forestry operations.
A noteworthy addition to the ‘DX-7M’ range is the incorporation of the DEVELON Fleet Management system, version 3.0, as standard equipment on all models. This telematics management system collects data from sensors on the machines, providing invaluable insights and enhancing overall fleet management efficiency. Even the compact DX27Z-7M mini-excavator benefits from this advanced technology.
DEVELON’s latest generation of excavators is poised to make a substantial impact across a wide range of industries, setting new standards in performance, efficiency, and operator comfort. With its cutting-edge technologies and commitment to global standards, DEVELON solidifies its position as an industry leader in the world of construction equipment.
