Fecon LLC, a globally recognized manufacturer of heavy-duty site preparation attachments and forestry accessories, has recently acquired Stumper Industries.
This acquisition marks a significant expansion of the US company’s product offerings, particularly in the realm of landscaping and land maintenance.
Stumper Industries is known for its high-quality stump grinder attachments, designed for a variety of equipment including mini and standard skid steers, compact track loaders, excavators, and tractors. This acquisition enables Fecon to offer an even broader range of solutions to its customers, catering to tree service businesses, landscape companies, and farm operations.
“We are excited to welcome Stumper into the Fecon family,” expressed Jeff Stanley, Vice President of Product Development at Fecon. “Our decision was influenced by customer and market feedback, highlighting the need for a stump grinder that embodies Fecon’s core attributes of performance, durability, visibility, simplicity, and versatility.”
The Stumper series boasts five quick-attach models, compatible with a range of machinery from compact to heavy-duty. These attachments feature cutting diameters from 22 to 36 inches and can achieve cut depths of up to 12 inches per pass. The versatility of these models makes them suitable for a wide array of tasks, from small-scale jobs to tackling large, challenging stumps and roots. A notable addition to the series is the Stumper Grapple, a robust, multi-use tool that can be attached to mini skid steers for efficient removal of logs and debris.
Each Stumper stump grinder is distinguished by its unique, lower-speed, high-torque cutting wheel, which offers exceptional visibility and industry-leading performance. The design emphasizes quick setup and efficient operation, with a focus on the cutting face of the wheel for enhanced productivity. Manufactured entirely in the United States, these stump grinders are designed for durability and minimal maintenance. Their direct drive system, free from belts, pulleys, gearboxes, and electrical connections, reduces the need for repairs and replacements.
Ease of use is another hallmark of the Stumper series. New operators can quickly become proficient, enhancing productivity. The combination of low-rpm processing and heavy-duty chip deflectors also makes these attachments safe and efficient, minimizing the debris field and facilitating cleanup.
“These stump grinder attachments are a perfect addition to Fecon’s existing lineup of forestry attachments, providing our customers with a more comprehensive solution for their land maintenance needs,” Stanley added. “They enhance the value of our customers’ existing machines, enabling them to accomplish more with the resources they already possess.”
For over three decades, Fecon has been a leading name in the industry, with a production count of over 25,000 mulcher heads and a global presence. The integration of Stumper’s stump grinders with Fecon’s current line of mulching attachments fortifies the company’s status as a leader in forestry mulching and vegetation management.
