Terex Rough Terrain Cranes has unveiled the TRT 80L, a high-capacity crane that combines advanced features with user-friendly design to set new standards in lifting performance and transport convenience.
Stefania D’Apoli, Senior Sales Support Manager RT Cranes, highlighted the crane’s versatility: “The TRT 80L has a combination of advanced features and user-centric design that makes it a standout addition to any fleet. With an enhanced boom length and self-removable counterweight, it has significantly improved operational efficiency and transportability, enabling it to meet the demands of several applications, including ports, construction, infrastructure, mining, energy, yard logistics, and general lifting.”
Key Features and Capabilities
The TRT 80L boasts a maximum lifting capacity of 80 tonnes and an extended main boom length of 47 metres, providing superior reach and versatility on job sites. Despite its impressive lifting capabilities, the crane has a width of only 3 metres, allowing for easy transport and maneuverability in congested areas. This maneuverability is further enhanced by four steering options for optimal handling.
The TRT 80L features a self-removable counterweight for effortless transport, simplifying logistics and reducing setup time on site. Its Powershift permanent 4-wheel drive offers two driving modes: manual (three speeds forward and three speeds reverse) and automatic (six speeds forward and three speeds reverse). The extra-wide, tiltable cabin with large glass surfaces ensures excellent visibility and comfort, promoting safer and more efficient operations.
Equipped with a Cummins 6-cylinder engine, the TRT 80L delivers high power with low fuel consumption, aided by its Eco Mode function and anti-stall control. Engine options include the Cummins QSB6.7 Stage IIIA – Tier 3 and Cummins QSB6.7 Stage 5 – Tier 4F, catering to different regional requirements.
Advanced Technology and Customization Options
The TRT 80L features the Terex Operating System (TEOS), which improves usability and information flow through a new, 10’’ full-colour touch screen display with an intuitive interface for efficient and safe operation and maintenance. Terex T-Link telematics, which provides real-time information on crane performance, comes standard on the TRT 80L, along with an anemometer and LED lights. The crane can be further customized with various options, including a 9/17m jib, radio remote controller, auxiliary winch (matching the performance of the standard winch), and outrigger control from the carrier.
The introduction of the TRT 80L reflects Terex’s commitment to providing innovative and efficient lifting solutions to meet the evolving needs of diverse industries.
