Develon, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, is set to make a grand debut at Bauma 2025, taking place from 7 to 13 April in Munich, Germany. Occupying stand FM714/1 with an expansive 3748 m² space, Develon will exhibit over 20 cutting-edge machines, offering visitors an exclusive look at its latest advancements in digital technology and state-of-the-art construction equipment.
Under the theme ‘Achieve the Next,’ Develon’s Experience Zone will highlight the company’s focus on sustainability, automation, and alternative drive technologies. New model launches will extend, elevate, and expand the current range, reinforcing Develon’s commitment to innovation.
Vision for Autonomous Machinery
Develon has been at the forefront of autonomous machinery development since the introduction of Concept-X technology in 2019. Building upon this, Bauma 2025 will feature ‘Real X,’ the next evolution in autonomous working, enabling Develon crawler excavators to perform trenching, bulk earthwork, and truck-loading autonomously. Real X leverages AI-powered construction equipment technology to accelerate safe, productive, and sustainable autonomous excavation solutions. Notably, these excavators can seamlessly transition between autonomous, remote control, and traditional joystick operation modes.
Advanced Technologies for Enhanced Safety
Develon continues to lead in safety innovation with pioneering technology solutions. At Bauma 2025, the company will introduce Smart Around View Monitoring (SAVM), an AI-based object detection system that provides a 360-degree view of the excavator, significantly improving site safety. Additionally, the Transparent Bucket 2.0 system will be showcased, an upgraded version of Develon’s original safety feature, now incorporating Object Detection (OD) and Object Recognition to enhance operator awareness and accident prevention.
Visitors to the Experience Zone will also explore cutting-edge safety technologies such as Radar and E-Stop detection, Advanced Lift Assist (ALA) systems, and Prognostics & Health Management (PHM) through the Uptime Center, which monitors construction equipment components and oil conditions to optimize maintenance.
Zero Emission and Alternative Drive Solutions
Develon will highlight its expanding portfolio of zero-emission and alternative drive equipment. The DX20ZE-7 and the newly introduced DX23E-7 electric mini-excavators will be on display, featuring an in-house developed lithium-ion battery pack optimized for operation in harsh environments.
Also making its debut is the DX140WRE, a fully battery-powered 14-tonne wheeled excavator, designed for high-efficiency urban projects. The DX140WRE is the world’s first mass-produced medium-sized wheeled excavator that can operate for more than eight hours on a single charge, eliminating the need for additional charging during a full workday.
Expansion of the Product Range
Develon will unveil two Next Generation ‘-9’ heavy crawler excavators, marking their first appearance in Europe. These advanced models integrate ten groundbreaking technologies, setting new benchmarks in productivity, safety, and operator convenience.
To further extend its range, Develon will showcase new Special Application machines, including the DX270WMH-7 material handler, optimized for demanding material sorting and handling applications. Additionally, the DX235LCR-7 Car Dismantler, a purpose-built machine designed for efficient vehicle dismantling and recycling, will make its debut. Another first-time showcase includes the DX140RDM-7 demolition excavator, a versatile 22.5-tonne model joining Develon’s demolition range.
Range Extensions and Upgrades
Bauma 2025 will also witness Develon expanding its existing product line-up with models such as the DX25Z-7 mini-excavator, designed for lower weight and reduced operating costs. The company will also present the DX165W-7K and DX190W-7K wheeled excavators, which introduce new features to enhance efficiency and versatility. The DL220-7 wheel loader, a latest addition to Develon’s award-winning DL-7 range, will also be displayed, featuring new technological enhancements.
