Topcon Positioning Systems has announced multiple new technologies at bauma 2025, including the CR-H1 handheld reality capture solution and the integration of its MC-Max Asphalt paving system with Dynapac’s latest paver series.
CR-H1 Handheld Solution Introduces New Level of Accessibility in Reality Capture
Topcon’s new CR-H1 is a cutting-edge handheld device, utilizing PIX4Dcatch software on an iPhone integrated with LiDAR. This solution captures detailed, full-color 3D point clouds using photogrammetry. Combined with Topcon’s HiPer CR GNSS receiver, the system collects precise georeferenced data without needing a tripod—delivering unmatched mobility.
“The CR-H1 responds to the demand for accessible, high-precision reality capture,” explained Murray Lodge, executive vice president at Topcon Positioning Systems. “By combining advanced GNSS with Pix4D’s photogrammetry technology, we provide users with intuitive tools for accurate 3D modeling across sectors such as utilities, civil engineering, land surveying, and construction.”
The launch marks the first joint product since Topcon and Pix4D began their strategic collaboration earlier this year, with additional real-time accuracy available via Topnet Live GNSS corrections.
MC-Max Asphalt System Integrated with Dynapac SD25 and XD25 Highway Pavers
In another significant announcement, Topcon confirmed compatibility between its MC-Max Asphalt paving system and Dynapac’s new SD25 and XD25 Highway Pavers. This integration enables automatic height, steering, and screed width controls, boosting paving precision and operational efficiency.
“This integration highlights our commitment to seamless automation solutions for leading equipment brands,” said Lodge. “Addressing critical challenges like labor efficiency, the automated features minimize crew requirements while enhancing paving accuracy.”
Dynapac has verified the system’s effectiveness through comprehensive testing, affirming the value of Topcon’s advanced machine control technology. The integration provides significant operational benefits, including compliance with tighter tolerances, reduced material waste, and increased profitability through improved surface quality.
The MC-Max Asphalt paving system uses advanced GNSS positioning, Millimeter GPS, and optical total stations, along with Dynapac’s ultrasonic sensors, for precision screed control without traditional string lines
