CASE Construction Equipment invoked the rock gods as it made a powerful impact at Bauma 2025, unveiling its most ambitious and forward-looking portfolio to date. With electrification, remote operation, digitalisation, and a unique nod to rock music culture, CASE demonstrated how it is redefining the future of construction machinery.
Since 1842, CASE has built its reputation on delivering practical innovation. At Bauma 2025, it reaffirmed its commitment to the future of construction with smarter, more sustainable, and more connected solutions — all designed to meet the evolving challenges of the modern jobsite.
Through electrification, digital innovation, bespoke engineering, and a clear sense of identity, CASE Construction Equipment proved that its legacy is not just being preserved — it is being propelled into an exciting new era.
For instance, CASE signalled its commitment to sustainable construction with a range of new electric machines. The headline act was the CX210ZQ, a full-size electric excavator developed with MOOG. Equipped with a modular ZQUIP battery system, the CX210ZQ enables rapid battery swaps, ensuring continuous operation even during the most demanding applications.
“The CX210 ZQ, built in cooperation with MOOG, is an example of a potential full-size electric excavator. Using an innovative zQuip modular battery system allows rapid battery swapping, to keep the excavator operate with minimal downtime and delivering powerful performances. This would allow operators to maintain working patterns throughout the day, boosting productivity on a range of job sites,” explained the company.
The company’s strategy focuses on actively integrating CNH recently acquired Hemisphere and Raven technologies into CASE equipment, and pursuing strategic partnerships as needed, with a focus on electrification, digitalization, and automation.
The company highlighted its commitment to delivering practical, future-ready machinery, as demonstrated by collaborations with companies like MOOG for advanced electric battery systems, and with partners like GRAVIS ROBOTICS for cutting-edge digitalisation and automation technologies, including autonomous heavy vehicle development.
In the compact segment, the CX38D stood out with its precision-focused electro-proportional controls and Hemisphere’s GNSS-based tracking system, making it ideal for urban construction projects.
The compact design allows for precise movement and great manoeuvrability in tight spaces, making it perfect for urban work. Electro-proportional auxiliary controls and Hemisphere Machine Guidance make the CX38D incredibly adaptable, ensuring a wide range of tasks can be tackled with ease and precision. The GNSS technology provides real-time positioning and machine tracking, helping optimise job progress and minimize material waste.
CASE’s electrification push extended to compact equipment as well, introducing a new range of Electric Mini Equipment offering zero emissions, instant torque, low noise levels, and up to eight hours of autonomy — a perfect fit for environmentally sensitive urban and indoor sites.
These machines provide the same high performance as their diesel counterparts, but with no tailpipe emissions, reduced noise and fast recharging times. Electric drivelines provide instant torque, for superior operating power, with up to eight hours of autonomy. Fast-charging capabilities ensure all day productivity can be achieved. Electric machines can be operated in noise-sensitive zones, like residential areas, schools and hospitals and they can help customers to tap into new markets, qualifying for zero-emission tenders and earning environmental credits that enhance a business’s reputation.
Advanced Performance and Operator Comfort
CASE also introduced new developments in its traditional heavy machinery line-up. The 421G and 1021G+ X-DRIVE Wheel Loaders offered enhanced operational smoothness, with the 1021G+ model featuring the new X-DRIVE CVT drivetrain, boosting fuel efficiency and adaptability across loading tasks.
The updated 580SV Evolution Backhoe Loader made its debut, blending power, precision, and operator comfort. Featuring Direct Drive transmission, Power Boost, Comfort Steer, and a redesigned, quieter cab with enhanced visibility, the 580SV Evolution addresses the real-world needs of modern jobsites.
“The CASE 580SV Evolution backhoe loader is designed for customers who need power, speed, and precision in a compact, versatile package. Built for versatility and performance, it boasts advanced features that improve operator comfort and efficiency,” said the company.
The automatic Direct Drive transmission locks the power of the engine output directly to the transmission, for increased gradeability and acceleration, while providing lower noise levels in the cab. A comfort steering system requires minimum operator effort, reducing fatigue over the working day. In addition, a new brake enabled idle function mirrors travelling with a cruise control system. The machine also features faster loader speed and new Power boost and Power lift functions, to maximise productivity. Improved radiator access allows easier cleaning and maintenance.
Impact: Pioneering Remote Operation
Perhaps the boldest concept presented by CASE was Impact, a fully electric compact wheel loader with no operator cab. Controlled remotely from a dedicated control lounge, Impact pushes the boundaries of safety, inclusivity, and jobsite innovation. Its real-time perception system and semi-autonomous digging and dumping capabilities showcased CASE’s vision of remote and automated construction solutions.
Digital Transformation: The Tech Room Experience
At the heart of the CASE stand was the “Tech Room,” an immersive showcase of the brand’s digital innovations. Visitors explored myCASEConstruction, an all-in-one digital platform and mobile app offering access to fleet data, service histories, documentation, and direct dealer communication. SiteConnect & Connect Center introduced advanced connected services delivering remote diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and seamless service scheduling. Meanwhile, MYCNH STORE provided an online e-commerce platform simplifying spare parts ordering.
Interactive simulators demonstrated CASE’s Machine Control & Guidance systems powered by Hemisphere, highlighting how precision technology can significantly boost productivity and reduce rework.
Tailor-Made Engineering: Special Applications Division
Through its Sampierana Special Applications Division, CASE reaffirmed its expertise in niche and challenging jobsite conditions. The CX135E XRD was introduced as the world’s most compact high-reach demolition excavator, capable of operating a 700kg attachment at 13 metres height. Alongside it, the CX24D with Two-Piece Boom offered increased lifting performance and reach without enlarging machine dimensions, underlining CASE’s strength in mini and midi excavator design.
Where Rock Meets Construction
In a creative blend of rock culture and heavy equipment, CASE unveiled a custom-designed SV340B Skid Steer Loader inspired by Metallica frontman James Hetfield. Featuring a unique grey camouflage and skull-and-wings motif reminiscent of Hetfield’s Snakebyte guitar and hot rod styling, the machine captured the imagination of visitors. This collaboration follows CASE’s partnership with Hetfield’s All Within My Hands Foundation, reinforcing the brand’s creative spirit and social responsibility initiatives.
CASE presented a special edition SV340B skid steer loader at Bauma 2025, drawing inspiration from Metallica’s James Hetfield. This custom-designed skid steer loader follows the successful presentation of the first machine, TV450B, to James Hetfield in person at the YouTube Theatre in California, USA, at the Helping Hands charity concert, organised by the band’s All Within My Hands charitable foundation.
