Raimondi Cranes has announced a landmark agreement to acquire key lifting businesses from US-based Terex Corporation, in one of the most significant crane industry deals in two decades.
The transaction will see Raimondi take over Terex Tower Cranes, Terex Self-Erecting Cranes, Terex Rough Terrain Cranes, and Terex’s North American service and support operations. The deal expands Raimondi’s portfolio into new business lines, enhances its global footprint, and strengthens its competitive position in both mature and emerging markets.
Raimondi CEO Luigi Maggioni described the move as “the most significant acquisition in the company’s history,” adding that it marked a major step towards transforming Raimondi into a “full-fledged global lifting conglomerate.”
“By integrating Terex’s Tower and Rough Terrain cranes, we are creating synergies that enhance our ability to deliver a broader range of solutions, paving the way for sustainable, accelerated growth.”
The agreement includes facilities in Fontanafredda and Crespellano, Italy, and the Wilmington, North Carolina service hub, with around 250 Terex employees joining Raimondi’s workforce. The integration of Terex’s established infrastructure, particularly in North America, will accelerate Raimondi’s access to one of the world’s largest construction markets.
Simon Meester, President and CEO of Terex Corporation, said: “We are pleased to enter into this agreement with Raimondi, a manufacturer widely recognised for innovation and customer service. We believe the Tower and Rough Terrain crane businesses will thrive as part of an Italian-based global specialty crane company.”
“Our cranes team members in Italy have made substantial contributions throughout their years of service to the Company, and we thank them and wish them continued success in the future. Terex is working closely with Raimondi to support the team and manage the change with transparency and respect for everyone involved.”
The acquisition is expected to close in the second half of 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. Once completed, Raimondi projects it will be positioned to achieve annual revenues of $500 million by 2028, leveraging its Italian engineering heritage alongside Terex’s legacy in innovation and service.
