Bobcat has expanded its compact equipment line-up with the launch of the MT120, the manufacturer’s most powerful mini-track loader to date. The new model will make its debut at Paysalia 2025, the major landscaping trade show in Lyon, France, bringing significant upgrades in lifting capacity, reach and performance for landscaping, construction and ground maintenance professionals.
Powered by a 1.2-litre non-DPF engine, the MT120 delivers high breakout forces and a maximum tipping load of 1,573 kg. Despite the performance boost, Bobcat has kept the footprint ultra-compact: at just 91 cm wide, the machine can manoeuvre through gated gardens, narrow residential plots and restrictive urban jobsites with ease.
With a lift height of 2.24 m and 56 cm of reach, the MT120 is built for demanding tasks such as loading trucks, handling materials and completing precision landscaping work. An integrated operator platform provides improved visibility and smooth, intuitive controls.
“Between 2010 and 2020, the median lot size for a new home has decreased by almost 18%, and we are supporting workers to adapt to these smaller spaces,” said Federico Fernandez-Ayala Novo, Senior Product Manager for GME at Bobcat. “Our mini track loader can go where other machines can’t.”
Low Operating Costs, High Versatility
The MT120 has been engineered with maintenance-free components, including a DPF-free engine, direct-drive system and maintenance-free rollers and bushings — helping operators reduce downtime and achieve a lower total cost of ownership. Its low ground pressure makes it particularly well-suited for delicate surfaces such as established turf, landscaped gardens or finished concrete.
The loader is also compatible with more than 20 categories of attachments, supporting applications such as levelling, site preparation, sod installation, tree and branch removal, fencing, irrigation, material handling and snow removal.
“The simple controls also help new or seasonal workers quickly become proficient operators,” added Fernandez-Ayala Novo.
A Continuing Legacy of Compact Innovation
Since introducing its first mini-track loader in 2002, Bobcat has continually expanded and refined the concept to meet evolving landscaper needs. The MT120 joins the popular MT100 and complements a wider compact loader range that includes skid-steer loaders, compact track loaders, small articulated loaders and compact wheel loaders.
