Tadano has announced Scott Walter as the new VP of sales for its Manitex Inc business. This appointment will serve to improve sales and support for customers, the firm said.
“From the very beginning, we saw the Manitex Inc investment as key to meeting Tadano’s vision of becoming the leader in lifting equipment. Since last January, we’ve dedicated much time and effort in enhancing our product, services and support infrastructure for customers,” says Dean Barley, President and CEO of Tadano America Corporation, Manitex Inc and Tadano Mantis Corporation.
“With this addition to the team we are now adding an increased focus on sales. Scott has a long, proven track record of sales success and team member development. His wealth of industry experience is necessary for leading our sales teams in support of our customers’ lifting needs,” adds Barley.

Walter adds nearly 30-years of sales and more than 20-years of management experience to the Manitex Inc team. With this addition, Tadano further strengthens the Manitex sales leadership team, comprising Jeff Long, Director of Sales for boom trucks, bucket trucks and sign cranes, and Anthony Hampton, Director of Sales for knuckle boom cranes – each contributing specialised expertise in their respective product areas to better support customers’ needs, with both reporting to Walter.
Offering global experience, Walter is said to have successfully negotiated contracts and managed business development. Most recently, he spent the last 16-years as VP of strategic accounts (OEM sector) for Ritchie Bros., charged with managing the company’s team of strategic account managers within the OEM sector.
“Working with the Manitex Inc team, Tadano has leveraged its experience to simplify the business, equipment distributors and customers with innovative tools to ensure success and strengthened customer support by creating a laser focus on each of the key product lines. I’m excited to get to work and do my part to build on this success,” comments Walter.
