Genie is marking its 60th anniversary in 2026, celebrating six decades of development in aerial work platforms while looking ahead to the technologies shaping access equipment.
The company was incorporated on September 12, 1966, and is using the milestone to reinforce its focus on quality, innovation and solutions aimed at helping rental companies improve fleet performance and manage total cost of ownership.
While the anniversary will be marked at Vertikal Days in the UK, the milestone has wider relevance for the access equipment market, including the Middle East, where rental fleets are increasingly balancing productivity, operating costs, emissions and safety requirements.
Genie’s latest product developments reflect those priorities, in electrification. The company will highlight its Z-45 FE articulating boom lift alongside the newer S-85 XC FE hybrid boom lift. The FE range combines electric and fuel-powered technologies to reduce emissions and fuel consumption while retaining the rough-terrain capability and flexibility required for construction and maintenance work.
The S-85 XC FE adds Genie’s Xtra Capacity capability, allowing operators to handle heavier loads and additional tools at height.

Spotlight on safety technologies
Genie is also showcasing its range of safety technologies. These include Lift Guard Lanyard Alert and Lift Guard Fall Arrest Bar for boom lifts, while the Lift Guard Sense proximity system is designed to help reduce the risk of entrapment around overhead obstructions.
For low-level access applications, Genie’s GS micro scissor lifts are being presented alongside accessories including Lift Guard Zone Lighting and the Lift Tools Integrated Access Deck. The latter provides additional working height within the enclosed platform, while Zone Lighting creates a visible perimeter around the machine to improve awareness on jobsites.
The company is also using its anniversary year to highlight Genie 360, its portfolio of digital service and support tools. These include Warranty Hub, Genie Serial Hub QR Codes and the Genie Assist Chat Agent, providing technicians and operators with digital access to equipment information, troubleshooting guidance and support.
Genie President Josh Gross said the company’s six-decade history had been built around customer partnerships, quality and continuous improvement.
“Genie’s leadership in the industry has been defined by a strong partnership with our customers, a relentless commitment to quality, and a continuous drive for innovation and improvement,” he said.

Focus on future
The anniversary is being positioned not simply as a retrospective milestone, but as a platform for the company’s next phase of development. With electrification, connected services and enhanced safety becoming increasingly important across access equipment markets, Genie says it has further investments planned as it begins its next 60 years.
For Middle Eastern rental companies and contractors, the direction is particularly relevant as access equipment fleets adapt to more demanding requirements for lower emissions, greater versatility and improved machine uptime.
