He is particularly specialised in the mining and OTR segments and in the past has been associated with various leading tyre brands in India, as well as in Ghana and the African market.
According to the company, growing demand for Magna products in India and continuous enquires spurred the company to initiate their first office in the country for enhanced focus and reach.
Michael de Ruijter, Managing Director, Magna Tyres said: “Our decision to operate from Kolkata was mainly due to the region’s proximity to seaport and mining belt in the industry. In course, Magna Tyres plans to open offices in all the major cities in South, West and Northern India.”
He added: “Magna Tyres has no doubt that Akash is the most apt person to lead our business forward in the country, and the future looks bright as India represents a highly attractive OTR market with an estimated USD 2.7 billion turnover in 2023 and a recorded 5.5 cent growth in the construction and mining sectors.”
