AJI Rentals, a leading provider of heavy machinery and equipment solutions, today announced that it has added the Enertainer – an advanced energy storage system for equipment such as tower cranes, hoists, welders, bar-benders machines and more – to its extensive catalogue of construction rental offerings.
This battery energy storage system (BESS) has been proven by its manufacturer to lower all-inclusive operating expenses by up to 75% while reducing carbon emission by up to 90%, with zero direct NOx, particulate matter, and SO2 emissions.
Governments in the GCC have been making clear advancements in enhancing the sustainability of their economies, with the UAE targeting 50% of its total energy mix generated from clean sources by 2050. AJI Rentals’ latest portfolio addition aligns with company’s strategic vision of being a leader in sustainable solutions for the construction sector.
20% of the company’s fleet is now either electric, battery operated, or hybrid, and 27% of its fleet-related investments in the year-to-date have been for non-diesel power generation solutions. The company’s battery powered/hybrid stock consists of several solutions including boom lifts, scissor lifts, mini cranes, material and glass lifters, and sweepers and scrubbers.
“We are keen to enable developers and contractors to take advantage of this growing wave of clean energy production in the region. While the savings on operating expenses alone is sufficient to justify this transition, the added benefit of a cleaner and healthier environment can translate to productivity and worker satisfaction increases,” said Hannes Van Graan, Operations Manager at AJI Rentals.
The BESS solution has been proven in manufacturer testing to be nearly 32 times quieter than traditional alternatives. This reduces noise pollution in local communities and allows work to continue into noise sensitive hours.
The Enertainer has a proven track record, having registered over 1,500,000 hours of fleet-wide operation which the manufacturer estimates has resulted in the elimination of 6,500 tonnes of CO2 per year to date – the equivalent of 15,000 cars. AJI Rentals offers in-depth training to enable project teams to utilise all advanced functionality of the solution such as customisable smart charging schedule management, and remote monitoring and troubleshooting.
“Our introduction of innovative electric and hybrid heavy machinery solutions to the Middle East market is another demonstration of our unwavering commitment to innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in the construction industry,” said Hannes Van Graan. “By providing equipment that operates reliably, efficiently and with a smaller environmental impact, AJI Rentals is challenging traditional paradigms, and setting new benchmarks for the sustainability.”
