LiuGong held its Global Dealer Conference alongside its spectacular 11·26 Global Customer Festival at its headquarters in Liuzhou, Guangxi, last week. Nearly a thousand dealer representatives from around the world attended the event, engaging in industry discussions, celebrating shared successes, and exploring future collaboration opportunities.
The conference highlighted LiuGong’s ambitions for growth and leadership in the global construction machinery industry, with a particular focus on sustainable development, genuinely innovative technology, and a strengthened dealer network. While the sprawling Festival demonstrated the Chinese manufacturer’s full range capabilities across an entire spectrum of industrial activity.
LiuGong displayed nearly 200 machines at the event, representing its expanding portfolio across eight industries. The highlight was the launch of 50 new products tailored for specific sectors, such as mining loaders, motor graders, and aerial work platforms. Among these innovations were 50 electrified “green” products, including excavators and graders designed to meet global environmental standards.
In the past, Chinese industry has faced accusations of low innovation, and occasionally outright plagiarism, which has placed sales ahead of sustainability. But, as the car industry has proven, this is point of view that the global competition should be wary of.
Before the festival, delegates were invited to visit LiuGong’s highly automated and advanced factories for wheel loaders (the machine it is most readily identified with) and excavators.
A visit to two factories out of a global footprint of two-dozen is not enough to make a fair comparison with the very top tier manufacturers, but the impression over the two days was that LiuGong is well on its way to being a true global force and determined to meet the highest technological challenges.
LiuGong’s own commitment to green technology, for instance, was evident in many of the machines on display, which were frequently described as aiming to cut emissions, lower noise pollution, and improve energy efficiency through advanced electric drive technology.
This approach aligns with the company’s stated goals of taking environmental stewardship seriously and potentially positions LiuGong as a leader in sustainable construction solutions. Of course, it also opens up new segments for its products globally.
New Product Lines: The T-Series Loaders and F-Series Excavators
LiuGong introduced two new product lines that highlight its ongoing investment in technological advancement. The T-series wheel loaders have been designed to enhance comfort and control, reliability, and fuel efficiency, delivering lower total ownership costs for end-users. The F-series excavators, ranging from 1.7 to 120 tons, come with an expanded model lineup, now offering 70 variants to meet a wide variety of operational needs. Featuring smart technology and optimized design, these products underscore LiuGong’s focus on creating adaptable, customer-focused solutions for diverse work environments.
Green Alliance Initiative and Commitment to Sustainable Development
LiuGong’s commitment to green development was further demonstrated by its “Green Alliance” initiative, launched in 2023. The first phase of the initiative—a water well project in Africa—was completed this August, showcasing LiuGong’s commitment to meaningful environmental contributions. At this year’s conference, LiuGong solidified its dedication to sustainable growth by signing agreements with Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia, Beijing Institute of Technology, and multiple dealers to promote green development.
Strengthening Dealer and Customer Partnerships
The conference emphasised LiuGong’s approach to fostering global partnerships. LiuGong signed intent purchase orders with partners, set ambitious targets for 2025, and secured strategic partnership agreements with several key customers. Recognizing its top-performing dealers, LiuGong acknowledged their contributions to the company’s international growth, underscoring the critical role of a strong, well-supported dealer network.
LiuGong is expanding beyond construction equipment, offering new products such as forklifts, cranes, and tractors, and enhancing its after-market support for stable equipment operation. This broadening product line provides LiuGong’s dealers with new revenue streams and positions the company as a comprehensive solution provider.
Impressive Financial Growth in 2024 and a Vision for the Future
For the first three quarters of 2024, LiuGong reported an impressive financial performance, with a total revenue of 22.856 billion RMB, an 8.25% increase year-on-year, and a 59.82% rise in net profit. Chairman and CEO Zeng Guang’an attributed this growth to LiuGong’s competitive edge in the global market. He underscored LiuGong’s strategic focus on overseas markets, especially in mining, and the company’s intention to rise to the top tier of the construction machinery industry in the coming decade.
Voices from the Conference: Commitment to Growth and Green Solutions
During the event, LiuGong executives and industry leaders shared insights into the company’s strategies and achievements.
Zeng Guang’an, who made his first appearance at the event on the cabin deck of a green Dressta-branded electric mining truck, highlighted how LiuGong’s agile response to market challenges — including the global supply chain crisis — has strengthened the company’s expertise in battery and chipset technology.
Guang’an addressed the challenges posed by global trade frictions and macroeconomic conditions, noting the company’s determination to achieve above-average growth rates (up to 30% y-o-y). He expressed LiuGong’s ambition to outstrip industry growth and encouraged other Chinese companies to adopt a similar global outlook.
According to Overseas Business Development Chief Luo Guobing, mining equipment sales have surged 80% year-on-year, with the company’s energy storage solutions showing 450% growth across 35 countries. LiuGong has also expanded its dealer base to over 380 and opened new operations in strategic locations, including Saudi Arabia and Kenya.
Jack Zhou, a key player in LiuGong’s green initiative, spoke about leveraging AI, charging infrastructure, and battery technology to extend LiuGong’s global presence. Zhou underscored the essential role of dealers in supporting LiuGong’s vision of “green and intelligent machinery,” emphasising a collaborative path toward a sustainable future.
Russ Hudson of LiuGong Europe provided a glimpse into the future, announcing that LiuGong’s roller fleet is expected to be fully autonomous by 2027. The debut of the world’s first electric grader, the 4280DE, further bolstered LiuGong’s status as a pioneer in green machinery, with this model already achieving 3,000 hours in the mining sector.
Challenges Ahead but Positioned for Success
With over 6,500 electric units sold and ongoing investment in intelligent manufacturing, LiuGong has made a solid case for its leadership in sustainable machinery. As the company continues its journey toward becoming a top-tier global brand, its commitment to innovation, green technology, and strategic partnerships should signal a promising future for LiuGong and its extensive network of dealers and customers.
