The dust has settled on an exhilarating Caterpillar Global Operator Challenge, culminating in a hard-fought victory for the three winning operators – Ghulam Fareed Shev Ali from Al Marwan, Amer Iqbal from Copri Co. and Parnek Singh from Khazan Logistics.
Al-Bahar organized the event across three key locations and dates: Abu Dhabi on 22 April, Sharjah on24 April, and Muscat on 30 April, with a participation of close to 30 operators per location, leading to an approximate participation of 90 participants.


These qualifying rounds of Global Operator Challenge (GOC) conducted by the authorized Cat dealer Al-Bahar brought together many skilled operators, showcasing expertise and dedication across the middle eastern region. Each of the participating operators received a complimentary kit and essential safety gear, underscoring the event’s commitment to both competition and safety. With a legacy of more than 65 years of a strong partnership with Caterpillar, Al-Bahar hosted these events with utmost dedication and let no stone unturned to make it a one-of-the-kind experience for its customers and their operators.

After days of intense competition across a range of challenging tasks, all participating operators demonstrated exceptional skill, and determination to emerge as the champion. Operators put their expertise to the test on prime machine models, tackling a variety of challenges designed to showcase their precision, efficiency, and machine mastery.

Elaborating on the various challenges set for the operators, Gary Martin, Market Professional from Caterpillar commented, “We tested the operators on different systems and different technology on the Cat Machines including Cat® 966 Wheel Loader, Cat 426 Backhoe Loader, and Cat 320 Excavator. We shortlisted our best operator from all the three regions, who will move to the finals in Malaga, Spain for the regional finals.”
The challenges tested their abilities in optimally using the features and technology on the latest machine models. The competition witnessed operators exhibiting great passion and a diverse range of impressive skills throughout the challenges. While only three operators ultimately triumphed, the top performances across all venues highlighted the high caliber of talent within the industry.
From the participating customer perspective, the event served as a unique platform to witness their operators compete, fostering a sense of pride and providing a benchmark for optimal machine operation. It also offered a chance for their operators to be further groomed in maximizing machine efficiency.
