Susan Xu, Sinoboom Owner and Group CEO spoke to MEWP professionals at a dinner organised by the Aerial Platform Association of India (APAOI) in Bengaluru on 11 December. The dinner was said to have been attended by over 150 MEWP rental companies.
Xu is said to have spoken warmly of her first visit to India in 12 years, commenting on the positive energy she encountered in the access sector, and the clear signs of strong development she noticed.
During her presentation, Xu drew parallels between the recent development trajectory of China’s access equipment industry, and the current situation in India, describing how quickly an industry can transform.
“In 2008, China’s MEWP market was extremely small. A niche sector. Very few machines, very limited awareness, and almost no rental culture. But over the next 15 years, something remarkable happened. Infrastructure, logistics, aviation, and manufacturing began adopting safer methods of working at height. Companies invested. Standards improved. The rental industry matured.”
Xu outlined the current picture in India, emphasising that Sinoboom is ready to support the country’s MEWP and related sectors.

She noted, “India is today one of the most dynamic markets in the world. Infrastructure expansion, warehousing, aviation, logistics, and industrial growth are all accelerating. The construction equipment sector is growing rapidly, and awareness of safe working-at-height practices is increasing.”
Xu noted that Sinoboom has the capability to support this burgeoning sector. The firm is said to have a comprehensive product portfolio and localised sales and service are already in place in four key cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.
Sinoboom’s presence in India is soon to be further deepened, with the establishment of a full sales, service, parts and training center in Mumbai in Q1 of 2026, which will serve as Sinoboom’s official India Headquarters, the company said.
APAOI has been in operation since 2016, with the objective of raising awareness, creating standards, and protecting the interests of all owners, users, suppliers and manufacturers of MEWPs and related products in India.
The 2025 APAOI dinner coincided with the EXCON construction equipment trade show which took place at the BIEC, Bengaluru, from December 9-13.
