Dubai’s construction and logistics industries have received a significant boost following a temporary decision by the Roads and Transport Authority and Dubai Police to ease truck movement restrictions across the emirate, which ends today.
Under the revised arrangement, trucks were allowed to operate on most roads throughout Dubai at any time of day or night until today evening.
The initiative was designed to strengthen supply chains and maintain the smooth and uninterrupted transportation of essential goods. This includes critical materials such as building supplies, heavy machinery, and construction equipment needed to keep development projects running on schedule. By allowing round-the-clock access, authorities aimed to reduce delivery delays and improve overall operational efficiency.
However, the relaxation does not apply to the Airport Tunnel and Al Shindagha Tunnel, where existing traffic limitations remain in effect to safeguard road users and preserve traffic flow along these vital routes.
For contractors, developers, and transport operators, the temporary measure has relieved pressure on project timelines, particularly as construction activity continues at a rapid pace across the emirate.
Authorities have confirmed that normal truck regulations will resume from tomorrow, Thursday, March 5, and have urged companies and drivers to adhere strictly to traffic guidelines to ensure safety and minimise congestion.
