Alas Emirates Readymix has signed an agreement with Dubai Industrial City to establish its first concrete factory in Dubai, with the new facility covering a total area of over 160,000 square feet.
Announcing the move, a statement from ALAS, which is among the leading readymix producers and suppliers in the UAE and the largest of its kind in Abu Dhabi emirate, said that the new plant will be a “significant milestone” in its strategy for regional growth, reflecting its commitment to supporting the growth of the UAE’s vital construction sector.
The construction of the plant in Dubai Industrial City will expand the company’s operations across the region, enhancing its ability to meet the needs of construction projects across the country, the statement added.
The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Saud Abu Al Shawareb, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group – Industrial Sector, on behalf of Dubai Industrial City; Saif Mubarak Fadel Al Mazrouei, Chairman of Bin Fadel Holding; and Peter Sales, Chief Executive Officer of Building Materials at ALAS Emirates Readymix. Key personnel from some of the leading companies in the construction industry were also in attendance.

Low energy consumption
According to ALAS, the new plant will feature state-of-the-art administrative and operational facilities, as well as state-of-the-art concrete batching plants that reduce energy consumption. Operations at the plant are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026, coinciding with the scheduled completion of construction and construction works. The plant will have the capacity to produce ready-mix concrete at a rate of up to 400 cubic metres per hour.
Speaking on behalf of Dubai Industrial City, Saud Abu Al Shawareb, Executive Vice President of TECOM Group – Industrial Sector, said strengthening the building materials sector plays a prominent role in supporting the UAE’s ambitious goals to advance the industrial and construction sectors.
“We are delighted that ALAS is expanding its operations across the UAE through its new factory in Dubai Industrial City, which will contribute to enhancing national capabilities to produce readymix concrete with the highest quality standards and supporting sustainable building practices across the region, in line with the objectives of the 300 Billion Project, the ‘Make in the UAE’ initiative and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33,” he said.

New step in expansion

As part of its strategy to expand its operations across the UAE, ALAS Emirates Readymix said it has chosen Dubai Industrial City as its new headquarters in Dubai, taking advantage of its strategic location, infrastructure and integrated industrial ecosystem.
