Swedish mining giant Epiroc has signed an agreement to acquire AARD Mining Equipment, a South African manufacturer that specialises in low-profile underground machines for mines with low mining heights. Based near Johannesburg, AARD designs, manufactures, services and supports a wide range of mining equipment including include drill rigs, bolters, loaders and scalers. Grove has introduced a new heavy-duty jib extension for its GRT9165 rough-terrain crane, designed to boost efficiency when setting precast concrete panels. The optional jib improves the 150t crane’s utilisation abilities due to its easy transportation and fast set-up time, the company says. ACT Arabian Consolidated Trading Est. has become the first company in Saudi Arabia to take delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1650-8.1 mobile crane, the crane manufacturer has announced. ACT, which previously used its predecessor model, the Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1, opted for the full equipment package including both telescopic boom lengths, 54 and 80 metres, at the time of purchase. It continues the relationship the company has enjoyed with Liebherr since 1987.
