Cummins has appointed two new senior executives in its off-highway engine business. David Atkinson has taken on the role of global off-highway support with Phil Dawson, also UK-based replacing Annie Schmelzer as Cummins’ global agriculture segment leader. Atkinson, a veteran in the off-highway space, now has ultimate responsibility for the delivery of best-in-class customer support to Cummins’ agriculture and construction clients, said the engine-maker. A highly competitive tender process supervised by Abu Dhabi municipality, Tadweer, and three subcontractors, Averda, Lavajet, and BEEAH, saw UD Trucks securing 300 out of the 420 trucks specified. CASE Construction Equipment hosted a special event for key media from India, Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific region this week at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh in India. During the event, CASE revealed that it has invested $6.5 million to move 4,000 of its 15,000 units annual production of skid steer production to the plant. Diriyah Company says it has witnessed its largest ever volume concrete pour in a single location to date this week at its $63bn project in Saudi Arabia. “As the development of the Diriyah project moves forward, infrastructure progress is yielding significant success,” said the firm in a statement. ACCIONA will reduce by 40% the carbon footprint using low-emissions circular steel in the renovation and expansion of Son Sant Joan airport in Palma de Mallorca (Spain), awarded to the company last year. One of the main materials for this project is corrugated steel, of which 7,000 tonnes will be required.
