Oman and Etihad Rail Company, the developer and operator of the US $3bn UAE-Oman Rail Network, has signed a cooperation agreement with Mubadala Investment Company. The deal is in support of the development of the 303km-long railway network that will connect Oman and the UAE. In a statement, the companies said that the partnership comes in line with the two parties’ efforts to explore investment opportunities in the railway sector. SirajPower has signed a deal with Fujairah-based Halwan Crusher that will see the deployment of its Solar Hybrid system. Indian tyre manufacturer BKT has revealed that it plans to expand its production capacity by more than two-thirds as it looks to double its turnover to $2 billion per year by 2026. The off-highway specialist said last week that it will look to expand its black carbon manufacturing capability as well as its range and size of its tyres to open up new opportunities on the global market. On 6 February, two massive earthquakes registering 7.8 and 7.5 on the Richter scale hit Diyarbakir, Turkey leaving more than 40,000 people dead and widespread devastation across the country and neighbour Syria.
