Bristol VMD to establish first UAE service centre for Bronto Skylift

Bristol Vehicles Manufacturing Division (VMD), the Abu Dhabi-based fire-fighting, rescue and safety vehicles manufacturer, has signed a service and after-sales agreement with global truck-mounted hydraulic platform manufacturer Bronto Skylift.

A statement from Bristol said that under the agreement, the Abu Dhabi-based company will run the Middle East’s largest authorised service centre for Bronto’s range of aerial work platforms, which are typically used to fight fires in industrial and high rise areas. Also, Concorde – Corodex Group, the parent company of Bristol VMD, will act as the official sales agent of Bronto in the UAE.

The partnership will see dedicated areas of Bristol’s 30,000 sqm facility in Abu Dhabi and 20,000 sqm facility in Dubai give round-the-clock service support to Bronto’s client base throughout the GCC and Middle East, focusing on the countries where Bronto doesn’t have authorised service partners, the statement added.

Mahmoud Awad, managing director of Concorde – Corodex Group, said: “Bronto is a global pioneer in firefighting solutions and is a name synonymous with quality. The application of their products for firefighting purposes in high rise and industrial buildings is second to none.

“Now, for the first time, Middle East clients will have access to a locally-based authorised service centre providing round-the-clock after sales and service support. This makes a tremendous difference in the ongoing effort to improve the region’s ability to control potentially destructive fires.”

The agreement was signed during a ceremony at the Intersec safety and security exhibition at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Bristol VMD will provide fabrication expertise, local after sales, and a service centre within the grounds of its manufacturing facilities. The service centre will serve firefighting entities, including Civil Defence and Police, as well as the oil and gas sector, rescue operations and utility companies.

Bronto’s product range includes approximately 50 models with working height ranging from 17m to 112m. During the past 50 years, the company has delivered approximately 6,700 platform units to fire brigades and industrial customers in more than 120 countries. The company’s headquarters and production plants are located in Finland with subsidiaries in Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and USA.

Bristol VMD specialises in the engineering and manufacturing of bodies for all types of commercial vehicles. Ambulance conversion, customised firefighting vehicles, Rapid Intervention Vehicles, service vehicles, and extendable vehicles are some of the products in its portfolio.
