Terex Aerial Work Platforms (AWP), owners of the Genie brand, recently held its distributor summit in Dubai, which was attended by more than 45 of its authorised dealers from the Middle East, South Africa and Russia (MESAR) region.
The two-day event at the J.W. Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai provided an opportunity to discuss specific markets, share insights with Terex AWP leadership teams and to align goals to take MESAR customers to the next level, said a statement from the company.
“Our network of authorised Genie distributors in MESAR is growing steadily. Whether they are long-standing or recent relationships, they all know their customers and markets well — and, their feedback is vital to the success of our organization,” said Sharbel Kordahi, managing director, Terex Equipment Middle East (TEME) and Genie sales director for Middle East, South Africa and Russia, Terex AWP.
“Our annual summit offers our distributors the opportunity to discuss their needs with our company’s leadership team and exchange insights together. This is a key factor in helping to support their businesses and customers better on their local markets.”
According to Terex, the distributor summit focused on themes such as the latest Genie products, marketing support and tools to help distributors promote Genie equipment in their specific markets. Other key topics included financing solutions updates presented by the Terex Financial Services (TFS) team with the aim of demonstrating how TFS can serve as a catalyst between banks and end-users to help make investment easier.
With machine safety, reduced cost of ownership and increased uptime and residual value in mind, the Genie Service Solutions (GSS) team also highlighted how its tailored service and maintenance offering can support Genie distributors’ and customers’ fleets with solutions adapted to their specific needs, the statement added.
“The high attendance of our distributors is a clear indication of their strong commitment to the Genie brand and taking time off their busy schedules to attend the summit was greatly appreciated,” said Kordahi. “We are delighted to say that feedback from our distributors following the event has been excellent.”
Faisal Ahmed Al Dahloos, director of Genie distributor Arab Equipment Company Ltd, said: “Thanks to this year’s event, as well as meeting the Genie team, we also had the opportunity of being introduced to key Terex AWP MESAR leadership members to discuss all aspects of our business.”
Omar Yahya Al Obaidi, after sales services manager at Ain Khudairi Trading and Contracting Company (AKTCC) in Bagdad, added: “We have been a Genie distributor for almost five years now and were unable to attend the first Genie distributor summit in Italy three years ago. This year, it was a great pleasure to meet and get to put a face to the names of people on the team. We hope that there will be other opportunities in the near future as it helps build stronger relationships.”
Talal Al Mahroos, marketing manager of Genie’s UAE distributor M. H. Al Mahroos BSC, said: “We were delighted to be part of the 2018 Distributor Summit and would like to thank Genie for their generous hospitality. We appreciate these events as they put us in a room of people to discuss our experiences, learn and align our future goals together.”
