The second edition of the Cranes & Transport Middle East (CATME) will take place in Dubai on October 10 and feature an extended list of prominent speakers from the regional and global cranes and heavy lift sector, the organisers have revealed.
Additional speakers confirmed for the annual event, which will be held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel on the Palm Jumeirah, include two senior management personnel from Middle East tower crane specialist NFT, the largest dealer of Potain cranes in the world. The two speakers are Nagham Al Zahlawi, strategy and marketing manager, and Nawar Al Zahlawi. business development manager, who will join seven other speakers at the conference.
Apart from the NFT officials, other speakers include Martin Ashfield, capital asset general manager, Al Naboodah Group, who will speak on ‘The use of telescopic crawler cranes on a major project’; Aaron Chehab, chief commercial officer, KBW Investments, whose topic is ‘Middle East construction markets: an overview’, and Ronnie Drugan, global account manager, fire suppression products, Johnson Controls, speaking on ‘Combating the threat of vehicle fire’.
Thorsten Hesselbein, sales director, Liebherr-Export, Switzerland, will take the audience through safety in tower crane operations in his presentation titled ‘What really matters in tower crane safety’. Dr Shan Senthil, marketing manager, Integrated Logistics Company, Kuwait, will talk about the part his company played in the erection of wind turbines in Kuwait in his talk on ‘Shagaya Wind Farm Project, Kuwait: transportation and erection of wind turbines’.
CATME is organised by the KHL Group and will offer users and owners of cranes and specialised transport equipment in the Middle East a quality, day-long education and networking opportunity, said a news announcement by KHL. Among the event’s sponsors are global brands such as Wolfkran, Liebherr, Sennebogen and Tadano, and regional names such as NFT and Al Faris.
