JCB expands S range of gensets with Middle East-focused models

JCB Power Products has introduced seven new open set models in its S range of generators for the Middle East, all powered by Volvo diesel engines and featuring Mecc Alte alternators, Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) controllers and Schneider switchgear.

Aimed at a wide range of industries in the Middle East and African markets, the range is offered in both 50Hz and 60Hz frequencies, with a standby output of 275kVA to 770kVA at 50Hz and 375kVA to 750kVA standby power at 60Hz. The new models will be powered by seven, 13 and 16-litre engines coupled with high-efficiency Mecc Alte alternators to deliver reliability and fuel efficiency, said JCB.

A statement by the manufacturer added: “The engines provide smooth, low vibration operation, together with low noise levels, making (them) the ideal solution for installation into a noise sensitive location. Flexible exhaust bellows and a range of engine exhaust silencer options ensure easy integration of the generator into a plant room or other fixed installation.”

To provide strength and durability, a robust base frame has been designed with a 110% capacity bund and a drop-in fuel tank. To aid lifting and positioning, JCB has fitted integrated fork pockets and lifting points as standard.

Monitoring of operational performance is done with a range of DSE controllers. A standard-fit auto-start unit is good for both prime and standby use, while a DSE synchronising controller provides the flexibility to enable multiple units to be connected together to cope with peak electrical demands, as well as single machine mode to minimise fuel consumption.

As with other S models, a range of options can be specified into the new machines to match both the location and application. For standby use, an optional static battery charger, anti-condensation heaters and block heater ensure that the generators are ready to deliver in emergency situations. For prime running applications the enhanced alternator winding protection and advanced fuel filtration ensure maximum durability and long service life.

The models can be specified with JCB’s LiveLink telematics system, providing real-time location, maintenance and operating data. One-call service support is also available through JCB Power Products dealers.
