Bobcat has been honoured with a Red Dot Award for its innovative RogueX2, an all-electric, fully autonomous concept loader. The globally recognised Red Dot Design Award is renowned for celebrating design excellence, and the Design Concept category highlights groundbreaking ideas and innovations poised to shape future products.
The RogueX2, developed by Bobcat’s Global Design Studio in collaboration with the Global Innovation team, represents a major leap in construction machinery. With its focus on zero emissions, the machine operates with a lithium-ion battery and electric drive system, eliminating the need for hydraulics. The concept loader is also cabless, showcasing a vision for future work machines optimised for new technologies and improved efficiency.
Joel Honeyman, Vice President of Global Innovation at Doosan Bobcat, expressed pride in the achievement: “This award is a testament to the dedication of the Bobcat teams who are passionate about pushing design limits and advancing innovation to redefine the machines of tomorrow.”
On display at CES 2024, the RogueX2’s design includes wheels to maximise battery runtime, along with axial flux motors that provide impressive tractive effort. Built as a proving ground for Bobcat’s leadership in innovation, the RogueX2 has already led to numerous pending patents.
Honeyman added, “To build a smarter, more sustainable and connected future, we must ask the questions no one else has thought to ask before and invent new solutions that previously did not exist.”
The RogueX2 concept loader marks a significant milestone in Bobcat’s efforts to explore the future of machinery, combining sustainability, smart technology, and forward-thinking design.
