Metso’s Life Cycle Services for pumps, launched in autumn 2025, are quickly gaining traction across global markets. The company has already secured multiple small- and medium-scale multiyear agreements in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas, highlighting growing demand for solutions that improve reliability, safety and performance. In February, two five-year contracts were signed to maintain more than 100 slurry pumps for mining clients.
LCS for pumps is a performance-driven, long-term service solution designed to boost availability, extend component lifespan, improve safety and reduce overall ownership costs through a structured partnership approach.
The total value of these agreements has not been revealed. Typically, LCS pump contracts can reach several million euros, depending on their duration and scope.
Clear operational benefits with Life Cycle Services
Mining and industrial companies are increasingly shifting from one-off pump purchases to lifecycle-oriented service models that ensure consistent performance and ongoing support.
“Our customers are looking for a partner to support them throughout the entire lifecycle of their pumps,” says Roshan Kadanthode, Vice President, Pumps Services at Metso. “With LCS, we offer a performance-based model aligned with their operational and financial goals, helping reduce downtime, boost efficiency, improve safety, and ensure dependable pumping performance throughout the year.”
- While pump applications vary by site, the partnership is structured to deliver measurable and consistent improvements across key operational areas.
• Optimized operating ranges can increase effective pump availability by around 5–10%.
• Extending component wear life by 15–25% lowers replacement needs and reduces lifecycle costs.
• Standardized maintenance methods, specialized tools and better service planning can cut maintenance intervention time, with potential reductions of 20–30% in unplanned pump downtime.
• Hydraulic improvements and better operating practices can achieve a 5–10% gain in energy and water efficiency.
• Safety is enhanced through standardized procedures, dedicated tools and fewer unexpected interventions.
• Parts availability is improved through commitment-based inventory management.
• Long-term, predictable field service is supported by Metso’s global pump expertise.
