Caterpillar has introduced the new Cat 707 wide body truck, a durable and versatile hauling solution designed to deliver high productivity, long service life and low total owning and operating costs. Built around a fully integrated Cat powertrain and engineered with rebuildability in mind, the new truck is designed to maximise uptime while extending the value of customers’ investments over multiple lifecycles.
The Cat 707 features a fully integrated Cat powertrain comprising a Cat C13 engine, Cat automatic transmission and proprietary Cat axles. Designed for demanding quarrying, mining and heavy construction applications, the truck offers a maximum payload of 66 tonnes and is available in both standard- and heavy-duty configurations. Customers can also choose between 40m³ and 42m³ body options to suit varying materials, site conditions and production targets.

This is the first Cat wide body truck model in a new product family that broadens the Cat hauling systems portfolio.”

Durable performance
The Cat 707 is powered by either a 400kW Cat C13B engine that meets China Nonroad Stage IV emissions standards or a 358kW Cat C13 engine that complies with U.S. EPA Tier 3 equivalent emissions requirements. Both engines are equipped with a high-rated integrated engine brake as standard to improve vehicle control and performance on steep descents.
The six-speed automatic transmission can also be specified with an integrated hydraulic retarder, providing an additional level of braking performance when operating on challenging haul roads. Together with proprietary Cat axles, integrated powertrain controllers and Cat electrical systems, the drivetrain has been designed to deliver reliable performance while simplifying diagnostics and maintenance.
Three levels of braking and retardation – engine brake, optional hydraulic retarder, and service and parking brakes – provide improved downhill control, helping operators maintain safe speeds while supporting faster, more efficient haul cycles.
The new truck is designed to work seamlessly with Cat loading tools, offering ideal pass matches with Cat 986, 988 and 988 XE wheel loaders, as well as Cat 350, 374 and 395 excavators. Matching truck capacity with loader performance helps optimise loading efficiency, reduce cycle times and improve overall site productivity.
Operator comfort and safety have also been key design priorities. The left-hand driving position provides excellent visibility, while an optional right-hand instructor seat supports operator training. A four-point cab mounting system helps reduce vibration, while a standard falling object protective structure (FOPS) and optional rollover protective structure (ROPS) enhance operator protection. An available reversing camera further improves visibility when manoeuvring in busy worksites, and the truck’s hoist system delivers fast 20-second raise-and-lower cycle times for rapid material discharge.

Low lifecycle costs
The new Cat 707 has been engineered to minimise maintenance costs throughout its operating life. Its reinforced chassis and fully integrated powertrain are designed for durability and future rebuilding, allowing customers to extend machine life while reducing long-term ownership costs.
When combined with flexible Cat Customer Value Agreements (CVAs), operators can maximise planned maintenance, improve uptime and help maintain reliable mechanical performance through a second service life.
Maintenance has also been simplified through grouped service points that reduce inspection and servicing time. A ground-level engine shut-off switch allows operators to safely stop fuel flow during servicing or emergencies, while LED lighting provides brighter illumination, reduced power consumption and increased resistance to vibration and moisture.
The truck also shares key components with other Cat machines, including the C13 engine, CX31RT transmission and common cab, helping customers simplify fleet maintenance, improve parts availability and reduce inventory requirements. The new Cat 707 wide body truck is available in select markets with either US EPA Tier 3 equivalent or China Nonroad Stage IV emissions configurations.
