Metso has announced a major evolution in its service offering for the global minerals processing industry with the launch of a new Life Cycle Services (LCS) framework, designed to deliver measurable performance, efficiency, and reliability across every stage of a customer’s operation: from pit to port.
The scalable LCS model marks a decisive step toward outcome-based partnerships and performance-driven business models. It is built to support varying customer requirements, from basic parts supply to full equipment lifecycle management, labour and shutdown services, and even integrated flowsheet-level operations.
“Our customers constantly aim to improve efficiency and profitability, although their needs vary greatly,” said Miika Tirkkonen, Senior Vice President, Integrated Service Solutions at Metso.
“The new LCS framework spans from basic parts supply to full equipment lifecycle management, depending on the customer’s scope. It’s about long-term, continuous improvement and helping customers meet their operational and strategic goals.”
Tailored Solutions Across Operations
Metso’s latest LCS framework introduces several market-specific solutions, reflecting the growing demand for risk-sharing, predictable costs, and operational reliability:
-
LCS for Crushing as a Service: A transformative model currently available in South America, this solution enables customers to operate crushing processes without upfront capital investment. It delivers predictable operating costs, rapid mobilization, and high performance from day one.
-
LCS for Pumps Availability: Designed for global customers, this solution enhances continuous pumping performance by improving equipment availability, optimizing parts supply, and reducing capital expenditure—ultimately improving total cost of ownership (TCO).
A Shift Toward Partnership and Performance
Metso’s new framework expands beyond traditional transactional service contracts. Each partnership level—focused on stability, optimization, or growth—offers increasing degrees of shared accountability, operational integration, and long-term value creation.
“LCS helps customers scale their in-house expertise through access to Metso’s specialized knowledge,” added Tirkkonen. “By sharing risk and responsibility, customers reduce uncertainty while focusing more on business growth. The mutual commitment to long-term targets creates a win-win through improved planning and performance for both sides.”
Metso’s LCS offering now includes solutions covering parts, equipment, and process island scopes, forming a modular and expanding service portfolio.
The new LCS model debuted at Exposibram 2025, Latin America’s largest mining industry event, organized by the Brazilian Mining Institute (IBRAM) from October 28–30, 2025. Metso plans to showcase the expanding LCS portfolio at major industry events globally, underscoring its ambition to remain the leading service partner for minerals processing worldwide.
With over 550 active LCS partnerships globally, Metso continues to strengthen its reputation as a long-term solutions provider supporting operational stability, efficiency, and sustainability.
