Shantui has appointed Dubai-based Southwest Middle East as its regional sales and service representative for the manufacturer’s pipelayer range, further expanding the Chinese construction equipment specialist’s presence across the Middle East.
Under the agreement, Southwest Middle East will be responsible for the sales, rental, after-sales support and technical services for Shantui pipelayers across a regional network covering 14 countries. The partnership is aimed at strengthening customer support for contractors involved in pipeline construction, oil and gas developments, and major infrastructure projects.
The dealership will offer Shantui’s range of pipelayers with lifting capacities from 25 to 90 tonnes, providing solutions for specialist pipeline installation operations. The machines are designed to meet the latest regional safety and performance requirements while delivering the stability, lifting capability and reliability needed for demanding applications.
The appointment comes at a time when investment in energy infrastructure continues across the Gulf and wider Middle East, with new oil, gas, hydrogen and water transmission projects creating demand for specialised construction equipment. Pipelayers play a critical role in these projects by safely lifting, positioning and lowering large-diameter pipes during installation across challenging terrain.
For Shantui, the agreement further strengthens its distribution and aftermarket network in the region, ensuring customers have improved access to equipment, spare parts and technical expertise throughout the ownership cycle. The company has continued to expand its global dealer footprint in recent years as it seeks to increase its presence beyond its traditional earthmoving equipment portfolio.
Southwest Middle East said it will support customers with a comprehensive package of equipment sales, leasing, maintenance and technical assistance, helping operators maximise machine uptime and productivity on pipeline and infrastructure projects across the region.
