After working together on several projects dating back 25 years, this partnership will focus on servicing renewable Offshore Wind requirements in the US. Allison Transmission has become the exclusive provider of transmissions for Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group’s (XCMG) newest all-terrain cranes, which it says it expects will lead to additional growth for the company outside North America. Haulotte has appointed AVI Cranes as its exclusive distributor for the Israeli market, the company has announced. The agreement gives Haulotte access to the Israeli market through the third largest rental company and the largest lift operator in Israel. AVI Cranes has a large fleet of 1300 aerial work platforms (AWP’s) and recently placed an order for a mix of several types of Haulotte AWP’s including COMPACT scissor lifts, vertical masts, articulating and telescopic booms. An all-terrain crane independently developed by XCMG is said to have set a new wind power hoisting record. According to XCMG, it’s XCA2600 all-terrain crane lifted and installed an 8.5MW wind turbine recently in the Changyi Wind Farm in Weifang, Shandong Province, setting the record for the hoist of the largest onshore wind power generator. The XCA2600 is the world’s first all-terrain crane to have a 10-axle chassis and has a lower crane body that can protect the equipment when it’s operating at wind power plants. Wacker Neuson, Bomag, Mikasa, Swepac and Enarco announced that the universal solution will be offered under the ‘Battery One’ brand. British manufacturer JCB has unveiled its new mobile hydrogen refueller, which it says is a world first for the construction industry. The mobile hydrogen refueller provides a quick and easy way for operators to refuel their machines on site by delivering hydrogen via a nozzle into their machine when needed. According to the manufacturer, transportable fuel is already a widely used concept with around 97 per cent of construction machines having fuel delivered to them while working on site. Oshkosh Corp has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Italian manufacturer Hinowa S.p.A., the company has announced. Hinowa specialises in track-based aerial work platforms, mini dumpers, lift trucks and undercarriages. It has produced JLG compact crawler boom lifts since 2010, including electric, hybrid and diesel-powered models, and is well-known for its advanced track designs and being an early adopter in lithium-ion battery technology. Sandvik has signed an agreement to acquire Polymathian Industrial Mathematics, an Australia-based provider of advanced mine optimisation software and services. Polymathian’s solutions for automated decision-making and process optimisation is expected to complement the offering of Deswik, the mine planning software company which Sandvik acquired in April, 2022. United Rentals, Inc. has agreed to acquire Ahern Rentals, Inc. for approximately $2 billion in cash with the transaction expected to close prior to the end of the year, the company has announced. The deal will increase capacity for United Rentals in both U.S. coasts and in the Gulf region, expanding its fleet by over 60,000 rental assets and approximately $145 million of non-rental fleet.
