DEVELON, formerly known as Doosan Construction Equipment, has unveiled its latest generation ‘DX-7M’ range of tracked excavators, featuring 19 models catering to Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets worldwide.
These new excavators, designed for diverse applications ranging from construction and rental to recycling, waste processing, utilities, mining, and quarrying, promise significantly improved performance compared to their predecessors.
DEVELON’s ‘DX-7M’ range encompasses a wide variety of excavators, from the compact DX27Z-7M and DX35Z-7M 2-3 tonne mini-excavators to the powerful DX530LC(A)-7M excavators, capable of handling tasks up to 53 tonnes. The key enhancements across these models include more robust engines and advanced high-flow hydraulic systems.
Virtual Bleed Off (VBO) System Boosts Productivity
The DX200A-7M 20-tonne excavator and all larger models starting from the DX300LC(A)-7M incorporate DEVELON’s groundbreaking Virtual Bleed Off (VBO) technology. This system utilizes an electronic pressure-controlled pump within a closed-center hydraulic system, resulting in productivity gains of up to 17% and fuel efficiency improvements of up to 32%, varying by model and selected mode. The VBO system minimizes pressure loss, while the electronic pressure-controlled pump optimizes engine power usage, providing operators with improved feedback through the joystick, leading to better machine control and reduced operator fatigue.
The Smart Power Control (SPC) system, featured in most models from 20 tonnes and above, further contributes to reduced fuel consumption by automatically adjusting engine RPM according to workload and speed, ensuring optimal fuel efficiency.
New High Comfort Cabs
The DX-7M excavators boast completely redesigned cabs that prioritize operator comfort and control. Various ventilation and air conditioning options are available to meet individual preferences and needs. Safety is enhanced through the seat-belt warning alarm system and the AVM (Around View Monitor) system, designed to eliminate accidents caused by blind spots.
Additional features of the new cabs include a modern dark grey interior, upgraded heating and ventilation, an intuitive 8-inch touchscreen monitor, DAB audio with hands-free Bluetooth connectivity, a choice between a fabric seat with heating or a leather seat, multipurpose cup holders and storage options, ergonomic footrests to reduce ankle fatigue, LED cab lights, and a rear sun visor.
Increased Reinforcement for Durability
The DX200A-7M and DX220AF-7M models receive extra reinforcement for exceptional off-road performance, adhering to Develon’s stringent global standards. In the DX200A-7M, hydraulic components and the engine tank have been strengthened, while the robust frames and structures are built to withstand challenging work environments. Similarly, the DX220AF-7M is fully armored from top to bottom, ensuring maximum uptime even in extreme terrains, including forestry operations.
DEVELON’s ‘DX-7M’ range represents a significant leap in excavator technology from earlier Doosan iterations, offering enhanced performance, operator comfort, and safety features, making them well-suited for a wide array of global markets.
