LiuGong’s fully electric heavy equipment range has entered the Egyptian market through local partner PICO Engineering Group, marking what the company describes as a significant step towards wider adoption of battery-electric machinery in the country’s construction, mining and industrial sectors.
The introduction includes LiuGong’s electric mining truck and electric wheel loader, which PICO says are among the first commercially available electric heavy equipment solutions of their kind in Egypt. The launch is aimed at contractors, quarry operators, mining companies, ports and industrial users seeking alternatives to conventional diesel-powered machinery.
PICO Engineering Group said the arrival of LiuGong’s electric equipment reflects growing interest among Egyptian operators in reducing operating costs, improving efficiency and meeting increasingly important sustainability objectives.

The move comes as construction and mining equipment manufacturers globally accelerate the development of electric and hybrid machinery, driven by the need to reduce fuel consumption, operating expenses and emissions.
According to PICO, electric heavy equipment can provide several operational benefits for demanding applications, including lower maintenance requirements, reduced noise levels and zero on-site emissions. The company believes these advantages could be particularly relevant for industries such as mining, quarrying, ports and large-scale infrastructure projects, where equipment operates for long hours in challenging environments.
